The popular Volkswagen minibus was widely popular in the 60’s for its unique design and stunning comfort. Volkswagen after numerous requests from clients decided to bring back this model on the open market. However, this model will be electric and will have a driving range of 300 miles.
On the recent press conference held by Volkswagen, their CEO Herbert Diess has officially announced that they are definitely planning to bring back the Microbus. The concept will remain the same as the older models but with much-improved design and integrated electrical powertrain to make it as eco-friendly as possible.
The improved version of the Microbus will be based on the new MEB platform that’s intended to be a basis for all Volkswagen electrical vehicle. The exact date of its release is still unknown but it’s estimated that it will be released for public usage by the year of 2020.
The high level of comfort within the new Volkswagen model is a priority for the designer team who are detriment to turn the popular microbus into a vehicle that will revolutionize the automotive industry for small vans.
